Real Madrid is without a doubt one of the best football club in the world, only the best players’ play for the best clubs. Here are the top ten players to have played for Real Madrid:

Alfredo di Stefano:- 

The legendary player is an icon, he was nicknamed Saeta rubia which means blond arrow, he was a very versatile player, he used to score goals for fun but he was also great at defending, he would come back to defend whenever his team needed him, he is one of the highest goal scorers of the La Liga, he netted 216 goals in 282 league matches which is an unbelievable record. He was also instrumental in Real Madrid’s success in European competitions.




Zidane:-

Zizou was bought from Juventus for a world record fee; he had a very successful stint with Real Madrid. The legendary player dazzled the fans, his ball control and skills captivated the spectators, his playmaking ability stood out from the rest of the players. Zidane’s goal in 2002 final won Real Madrid the UEFA Champions League for a record ninth time in their history. The legend retired after playing his last game against Italy in the final of the 2006 World Cup; sadly he failed to lift the World Cup that year and ended up being on the losing side.


Luiz Ronaldo:-

The Brazilian forward who recently hung up his boots was a great goal scorer, he was an instant success at Real Madrid scoring on his debut, he lifted the La Liga in his debut season. Ronaldo’s jerseys sold like hot cakes on his arrival from Inter Milan, the sale broke all previous records. The player signed for AC Milan after a turbulent season with Madrid, he had gained weight and fell out of favor with the coach and had to move on.


Raul:-

The veteran player came through the youth ranks of Real Madrid and made a name for himself within absolutely no time, he won the La Liga 6 times with Real Madrid, Raul lifted the UEFA Champions League thrice with the club, Raul is one player who has never been shown a red card in his professional career which is spread across 17 professional seasons. He has scored over 300 goals for Real Madrid; he also broke Alfredo di Stefano’s record.

Figo:-

Figo received a lot of flak from the fans after he signed for Real Madrid, he was previously with Barcelona, the rivalry between the two clubs meant that the Barcelona fans thought that he was a traitor and gave him a very hostile reception, they threw several objects towards him which also included a pig’s head. Figo’s stint with Real Madrid was quite successful; he lifted the La Liga and the UEFA Champions League with Real Madrid. Figo signed for Inter Milan in the summer of 2005, his contract with Real Madrid had expired and the club decided not to renew it and as a result of which the player moved to Inter Milan.
